PerformanceIT Announces the Release of its ProIT Enterprise Security
Management Suite.
ATLANTA, April 7, 2003 – PerformanceIT has announced
the successful commercial launch of its new ProIT Enterprise Security
Management (ESM) suite, which includes the ProIT Intrusion Detection
System (IDS). PerformanceIT's Enterprise Security Management (ESM)
suite is an integrated security and network management platform designed
specifically for small and mid-size businesses. Most of these firms
average upwards of 5,000 attempted network attacks per day, which
until now has required multiple security products to achieve proper
protection. ProIT's ESM suite is designed to manage this large volume
of threats aimed at small and mid-size enterprises, while also handling
the daily volume of "ordinary" problems associated with
their IT network.

The features incorporated into ProIT's EMS suite include: Intrusion
Detection System (IDS) appliance - adds perimeter network-base proactive
security analysis. Each threat shows the source IP address (attacker),
destination address (target system), description, and the number of
attacks detected. For each threat, a link is provided to the appropriate
security web site for remediation procedures and tactics. Host-Based
IDS - host-based intrusion detects whether unwanted people have accessed
a firm's servers, devices, and corporate information by monitoring
the devices themselves, not the network traffic flowing into or out
of the network. ProIT proactively detects failed login attempts and
access to forbidden resources and provide alerts in real-time. Configuration
Control - ProIT includes complete auto-discovery, asset tracking,
and configuration management, so the configurations of servers and
network devices are stored in the ProIT database. ProIT then performs
scheduled auto-discoveries and alerts the security administrator to
changes in configurations of all monitored devices.
